Common questions about using BanteNote, plans and purchases, and your data.
Getting started
When can I use it?
The iPhone and iPad app is coming soon to the App Store. We will announce it in the news.
Is it free?
Yes. Recording, the Bag Map, drills and AI insight all work on the free plan. Photo analysis and AI insight are limited to 5 every 30 days on the free plan. Detailed analysis and cloud backup come with Pro and Pro+. See Pricing.
Do I need an account?
No. You can use it as a guest right away. You only need to sign in, with Pro or Pro+, to use cloud backup.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 16 or later. The app is available in English and Japanese.
Are there ads?
No.
Recording
Which launch monitors and simulators are supported?
There is no list of supported models. Screens showing one shot's result in large numbers read best. Even when a screen cannot be read, you can save the photo and type the numbers in. See Three ways to record.
Can I use it at a range with no numbers?
Yes. With "Record vs. target", count Short, Equal and Long against a target such as a distance sign, and the app estimates a distance range. Five or more shots are recommended.
Are my photos sent anywhere?
Only when you agree to photo analysis and tap "Analyze now" is a photo sent through the BanteNote server to an external AI service. Location and other extra information are removed. Photos on your device are deleted automatically after 30 days (your numbers stay). See the Privacy Policy.
My shots do not appear on the Bag Map.
Check whether any of these apply: no club set ("Needs review"), outside the Bag Map window, a 3/4 or Half swing (the default is "Full only"), a target record with fewer than 5 shots, or a photo waiting for analysis. See Reading the Bag Map.
Plans and purchases
How do I cancel?
Cancel in the iPhone Settings app → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel it. See Managing and cancelling your subscription.
After changing phones, my plan shows "Free".
Tap "Restore Purchases" in the app while signed in to the same Apple Account you bought with. See Restoring purchases.
Can I still record when my allowance runs out?
Yes, saving records always works. Save the photo and analyze it after the allowance recovers or you change plans. See How allowance works.
I would like a refund.
Apple handles purchases and refunds. Please request one from Apple's "Report a Problem" page.
Your data
How do I move my records to a new phone?
Use cloud backup (Pro and Pro+). Tap "Back up now" on the old phone, sign in to the same account on the new phone, and tap "Restore from backup". iPhone backups or device transfer alone do not bring your records back. See Backup and restore.
Will my records disappear if I stop my paid plan?
Records on your device stay. Your cloud backup is kept for 30 days after the plan ends, then deleted.
I want to delete my account and data.
Delete them in the app under Settings → Account → "Delete account". See Deleting your account and data.
