Three ways to record

How to record from a photo, enter numbers, or record against a target. Consent and allowance for photo analysis, and how photos are kept.

Tap “Record” at the bottom of the screen to choose one of three methods. Use whichever suits the session.

Method Best when Allowance
Record from photo You have a launch monitor or simulator screen Uses 1 only with “Analyze now”
Enter numbers You know the numbers Not used
Record vs. target An outdoor range with no numbers Not used

Shot conditions (all three methods)

Choose the club, range, date and time, swing (Full, 3/4, Half) and theme with “Change” under “Shot conditions”.

Record from photo

Take a photo of a launch monitor or simulator screen, and AI reads the numbers on it.

  1. Tap “Record” → “Record from photo”.
  2. Take a photo, or choose photos you already took from “Photos” (up to 20 at a time).
  3. If needed, use “Adjust ROI” to mark the part of the screen with the numbers. Save it to the range to reuse it next time.
  4. Choose how to save.
Button What it does Allowance
Analyze now Sends the photo and reads the numbers Uses 1
Save photo only Saves without analysis (you can analyze later) Not used
Enter values Saves the photo; you type the numbers Not used
  1. Analysis usually takes 20–30 seconds. When the result appears, check it against the photo, fix anything needed, and tap “Save”. Each result has a confidence level (high, medium, low). Analysis continues if you close the screen, and the result arrives in the Log.

The first time you tap “Analyze now”, a “Start analysis?” screen appears. Only if you agree is the photo sent through the BanteNote server to an external AI service. If you decline, you can still save the photo only or enter the numbers yourself.

You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Data & Privacy → Photo analysis consent. The Privacy Policy lists the companies involved and how long data is kept.

Allowance and connection

See How allowance works for amounts by plan.

Photos that read well

Importing many photos

When you choose 2–20 photos from your library, they are saved together as waiting for analysis, without analyzing them. You can analyze them together later from the pending list; each photo uses 1 allowance.

How photos are kept

Enter numbers

  1. Tap “Record” → “Enter numbers”.
  2. Enter “Carry” and “Total”. Either one is enough. The unit is the range’s input unit (or your Settings unit if no range is set).
  3. To also record direction, misses or simulator values, choose the fields in “Edit input fields”. Your choice is kept for the next record.
    • Miss: choose only when the shot was a miss (Fat, Top, Pop-up, Shank, Off-center, Off line, Other). If you choose nothing, the shot counts as no miss.
    • Simulator metrics: club speed, ball speed, smash, launch angle, launch direction, face angle, back spin, side spin, spin, spin axis, apex and offline.
  4. Tap “Save Shot”.

Enter at least one of distance, direction, miss or a simulator value. An unusual distance (an iron over 250 yd, for example) can be saved, but it stays off the Bag Map.

Record vs. target

At a range with no numbers, count “Short”, “Equal” and “Long” against a target such as a distance sign, and the app estimates a distance range.

  1. Tap “Record” → “Record vs. target”.
  2. Set the distance to the target (50, 100, 150, 200 buttons, ±10, or type it in).
  3. After each shot, tap “Short”, “Equal” or “Long”. Tap “Undo” to take back a mistake.
  4. Check the “Estimated Range” and tap “Save”.
