A drill is a set number of shots hit together to check your current distance and spread. Start one from “Drill” at the bottom of the screen.
Kinds of drills
| Drill | What it is for | Bag Map |
|---|---|---|
| Unified Drill (5 balls) | A quick read on your current distance | Included |
| Unified Drill (10 balls) | A thorough look, including spread | Included |
| Single-Distance Wedge Drill | Hitting to a target distance (10–100 yd) to tune your distance control | Not included |
Starting a drill
- Choose a drill under “Drill”.
- In “Start Settings”, choose:
- Input: “Photo” (shoot the monitor screen and read it) or “Manual”
- Club (required), range and date
- For unified drills: swing, how to enter distance (“Numeric”, or “Target” against a distance sign), metric (Carry or Total), and whether to collect direction and misses
- For the wedge drill: the target distance
- Tap “Start Drill”.
With “Photo” and automatic analysis turned on, each shot is analyzed as you take it, using 1 allowance per shot (the same consent rules as photo analysis apply).
Recording as you hit
- Unified drill (manual): enter each shot and tap “Add Shot”. After the 5th (or 10th) shot, it saves automatically and the result opens. To stop early, “Save & Exit” saves what you have.
- Photo: tap “Start Capture”; each photo moves you to the next shot. Fix read values with “Review & edit”.
- Wedge drill (manual): tap the 5×5 grid once per shot. Up is long, down is short.
Your progress is saved as a draft automatically. Resume or discard it from “Drafts” under “Drill”. Drafts are kept only on this device and do not go into the Log or the Bag Map.
Reading the results
- Result: median, IQR (the middle 50%) and number of shots. Target input and the wedge drill show an estimated range.
- Direction Trend, Distance Trend, Miss Tendency: items you did not collect show “Not captured”.
- Wedge drill: where the balls landed, and left/right spread (P20–P80)
- SIM Analysis (Pro): when photos gave simulator values, see shot paths from the top, the side and in 3D, each shot’s shape and the mix, averages and spread, and shot-by-shot trends.
- Shot List: each shot’s values
- Bag Map Usage: “Use in Bag Map” switches whether this drill counts toward the Bag Map. When it does, a line shows how the Bag Map value changed (for example “7I (Carry): 148 → 151 yd”).
To keep going, tap “Again” or “Another club”.
How drills feed the Bag Map
- Only saved unified drills go into the Bag Map, with each shot as one value (10 values for a 10-ball drill). Target input goes in as an estimated range (Carry only).
- The wedge drill is partial-distance practice, so it does not go into the Bag Map.
- A unified drill saved with fewer than 5 shots is a reference value, and lowers the Bag Map reliability by one level.
- The Bag Map’s window, range, swing and miss conditions apply to drills as well.
Kinds of misses
When collecting misses, choose a kind only when the shot was a miss: Fat, Top, Pop-up, Shank, Off-center, Off line, Other. If you choose nothing, the shot counts as no miss.
